WHERE IS BEAVER ISLAND?

Beaver Island is in the upper part of Lake Michigan, about 30 miles due north of Charlevoix.

Chicago - 300 miles
Detroit - 267 miles
Lansing - 200 miles
Sault Ste. Marie - 110 miles
 

HOW TO GET TO THE ISLAND

FERRY:
The Beaver Island Boat Company runs a ferry service from their dock in downtown Charlevoix. Current rates and schedules can be obtained from their offices in Charlevoix or on the Island, by telephone (231-547-2311), or from their web site.

FLY:
Island Airways runs a flight service from the Charlevoix City Airport which is located just south of town on U.S. 31. Current rates and schedules can be obtained from their offices in Charlevoix or on the Island or by telephone (231-547-2141), or from their web site.

Fresh Air Aviation runs a flight service which also departs from the Charlevoix City Airport and lands at the township airport on the Island. Current rates and schedules can be obtained from their office or by telephone (231-237-9482), or from their web site.

PRIVATE BOAT OR PLANE:
There are excellent marine and aviation facilities both in Charlevoix and on the Island.

HOW TO GET AROUND ON THE ISLAND

MAP:
A high-quality printed map is available from the Chamber of Commerce Office (located next to the Beaver Island Ferry Dock and the Beaver Island Yacht Dock).

CAR RENTALS:
Cars can be rented on the Island or brought on the Ferry.  The Beaver Island Boat Company also offers tour packages on the Island.
